Also, if you're running FLight Simulator 9, Flight Simulator X, Prepar3D V1, or Prepar3D V2, make sure you have FSUIPC installed If you're running X Plane, make sure you have XPUIPC installed". The system could not connect to your simulator. After it's loaded, I select the flight in smartCARS that I want to run, press 'start' and get an error: "SIMULATOR CONNECTION ERROR. I run smartCARS from its folder (neither being in the 'X-Plane 11' folder). I run the XPWideClient.exe file from the 'downloads' folder (Not sure if I needed to). txt files are still in my downloads folder, since they were in the XPUIPCV2038 folder, but outside the XPUIPC folder.Īt this point, I'm pretty sure that I satisfied the readme. The readme says to 'Copy the \XPUIPC subfolder into the \plugins subfolder together with the \32 and \64 subfolder.' So I copy the XPUIPC folder (NOT the XPUIPXV2038 folder) into the X-Plane11>Resources>Plugins folder. Edit the 'IP address of THIS PC' to reflect that, and edit the "IP address of server' line to show 192.168.1.20 as mentioned in the readme. I see I have to open XPWideClient.ini and change the IP Addresses. It mentions editing the 'xpuipc.INI' file. Opened the XPUIPC folder and opened 'New XPUIPC Readme'.
It also created three new files in the folder: XPWideClient.ini, XPWideClient.log, and XPWideClient.txt.Ĭlosed XPWideClient (it remained open even after clicking 'ok' in the error box.
Running XPWideClient gave me an error (Can't open UDP, wrong IP address! Please restart XPWide Client). In the folder was another folder called 'XPUIPC' and XPWideClient.exe.
I extracted the ZIP file, and doing that created a 'normal' XPUIPCV2038 folder.
The folder is XPUIPCV2038 and it saved to my PC downloads folder as a ZIP file I downloaded the latest version of XPUIPC (I think). Please note, there is a misspelling in the word Address in the WideClient.ini file.

Hopefully someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong here. I just installed X Plane 11, joined a virtual airline, trying to go through the motions of installing XPUIPC so I can run smartCARS, but I'm hitting a wall.
